Calif. Market Close: Tax-Exempts Finish Slightly Firmer

NEW YORK – The California municipal market was slightly firmer today.

 

“We’re a little better today,” a trader in Los Angeles said. “Probably about one or two basis points firmer.”

Market Close: Munis Slightly Firmer at Close

NEW YORK – The municipal market was slightly firmer today, as the primary market digested its heaviest slate of long-term supply of the week, with issuers in Massachusetts, Florida, and Puerto Rico coming to market with $1.5  billion of bonds over three transactions.

Market Post: Munis Slightly Firmer in Morning Trade

The municipal market was slightly firmer this morning, following Treasuries.
“We’re seeing a bit of firmness,” a trader in New York said. “I don’t think that we’re more than a basis point or two better, but Treasuries are doing better, and there’s a noticeable firmer tone in munis.”
